Reports suggest that Carlos Vela has finally had enough of warming Arsenal’s bench. His agent, Eduardo Hernandez, has rubbished claims that the Mexican star wants to leave but all indications are that he is trying to engineer a move elsewhere, possibly to Real Zaragoza, in a bid for more first team football.
Should he leave, or should he be patient and fight for his place? Would Wenger be mad to let him go? Are Carling Cup ties and Champions League dead rubbers enough for such a young prospect?
Having only signed a new contract last year, Vela’s motives are puzzling but it seems that he is not happy with the current situation. He predicted that Cesc Fabregas would leave in the summer and was wrong, but maybe what he really wanted was a move to Barcelona himself?? There’s little chance of that, but this rumour could have some truth in it.
