The majority of Arsenal fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are looking seriously sorry for Lukas Podolski who yet again seems to have found himself on the bench at new club Inter Milan.

The on-loan German international forward seems to be making quite the habit of being a super sub and keeping those seats warm whilst watching his team-mates strut their stuff.

After being left out of Roberto Mancini’s Europa League squad due to UEFA restrictions yesterday, it seems it is a case of same old, same old for Poldi.

Whilst we understand that UEFA have regulations in place and realise that fellow winter signing Xherdan Shaqiri has probably done more to gain a spot in Inter’s European squad, our regulars cannot help but feel sorry for Podolski.

Despite his love of social media, he seems to just want to play football. Sadly for him, that will not be happening in the Europa League at least.
