Nemanja Matic was, like many of his teammates, very disappointing last season.
He failed to establish himself under Guus Hiddink following the departure of Jose Mourinho, and a few of the Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern were touting him for a Stamford Bridge departure over the summer.
However, things have turned around under Antonio Conte.
He has been a constant under the Italian so far this season – and he has proven himself a crucial member of the Chelsea first team.
Matic is seemingly in the best form of his career so far – and he has added a whole new dimension to his game under Conte.
According to OptaJoe, Matic has already got 5 assists this season – the same number as he had in each of his prior seasons in London combined.
