The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern were absolutely delighted to see their side progress into the Semi-finals of the Carabao Cup last night.
Antonio Conte was pleased to see his side secure their place in the penultimate round of the EFL Cup last night, but it was by no means plain sailing for Chelsea against the travelling Cherries. Chelsea made the perfect start to the game courtesy of Willian’s strike after 13 minutes following a wonderful move involving Kenedy and Fabregas.
Chelsea hung onto their lead until the 90th minute before Dan Gosling stunned Stamford Bridge and appeared to take the game into extra-time with an emphatic equaliser from the edge of the area.
However, Bournemouth’s celebrations were extremely short-lived, as Chelsea immediately restored their lead directly from kick-off thanks to Alvaro Morata’s composed finish through the legs of the onrushing Artur Boruc.
Overall, it was a brilliant night for Chelsea, but that has not deterred the fans from firing criticism at one of their recent summer signings in the aftermath of proceedings.
Plenty of the Blues faithful unleashed a scathing Twitter attack on Davide Zappacosta after the match despite their positive result.
Judging by the reaction on Twitter, the former Torino man has plenty of improving to do if he wishes to win over the majority of Chelsea fans.
Here’s what the supporters had to say about Zappacosta’s performance last night…

Absolutely nothing. Panicked buy! But he's Conte's signing, so he has to play.

Watching extended highlights from yesterday I actually think Zappacosta is up there with one the worst players I’ve ever seen play for Chelsea
