The future sure does look bright for Everton and their fans are thrilled with the youth prospects coming through the ranks at Goodison Park.

With the likes of Tom Davies, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Mason Holgate all impressing this season, along with the acquisition of Ademola Lookman from Charlton Athletic in January – our landlord believes that this Everton squad could become a force to be reckoned with if boss, Ronald Koeman, keeps his squad together.

This is easier said than done and with the future of top scorer, Romelu Lukaku, looking to be away from Goodison Park – the resident Toffees fans in the Transfer Tavern are worried that his departure may spark a selling spree which sees them lose their talent.

Our landlord is not so sure and even though there is hope that Lukaku can give the Goodison faithful one more season, he believes that as long as the transfer fee generated from the sale of Lukaku is reinvested.

The future should still be bright for the blue half of Merseyside.

So, the question now is, who are the players that Koeman needs to get in to enhance his squad? It’s safe to say there are a lot of opinions flying around the Everton side of the Tavern at the moment.

Michael Keane

With the newly capped England man out of contract next summer, our landlord believes Ronald Koeman will be on alert to bring the Burnley man to Goodison Park this summer.

Reports from the Daily Mail in December actually touted the Toffees to make a move in January, however Everton fans are looking forward to the prospect of Keane, and Ashley Williams at the heart of their defence for the start of next season.

Demarai Gray

With a £12million clause in his contract, could Koeman add to his youthful ranks with the acquisition of Leicester’s Demarai Gray.

With 21 from his 33 appearances for the Foxes being from the bench, Gray is reportedly looking elsewhere for first team football and with Everton renown for developing youth – it may be the perfect fit for the English winger.

Michy Batshuayi

Could Lukaku move to Chelsea with Batshauyi moving the other way? Our landlord certainly thinks so and believes this would not be a bad move for both parties.

Batshauyi hasn’t had too many chances in his first season with the Blues and though not ideal for the Toffees in the Tavern, he wouldn’t be the first former Chelsea striker to be rejuvenated at Goodison Park.
