The Manchester City fans in the Transfer Tavern are gutted to see the two players who Pep Guardiola will turn his attention to if the deal for Jorginho falls through. According to Martin Blackburn on Twitter, the Citizens will be looking to Real Madrid’s Mateo Kovacic and Southampton’s Mario Lemina, which has aggravated the City fans.
#Mcfc have eyes on real Madrid’s Kovacic and Lemina of Southampton if they can’t strike a deal for Jorginho.

Mario Lemina is a name that has been scoffed at by City fans, although he wouldn’t be a bad alternative to Jorginho. The Gabonese midfielder has been a hit on the south coast with The Saints this season with his passing range, ability to read the game and defensive ability making him an ideal fit for the Manchester City midfield, as he’d be able to improve his game under Guardiola and learn from the ageing Fernandinho.
Despite this, our local Sky Blues won’t be entertaining the idea of bringing the Southampton man in this window, with the fact that he’s been at a club like Southampton and diced so closely with relegation this season being one of the main reasons that the fans are opting against him. If the club does end up with Lemina at The Etihad, he will be keen to prove the point that he can hold his own at that level, despite the fans initial thoughts.

Lemina

The signing of Mario Lemina would be a great coup for the Citizens, although he wouldn’t be as effective at the club as Jorginho would be, the Gabonese midfielder could become one of the best players in his position in the world under the tutelage of Guardiola, despite the fans negative views on him.
