With the end of the season fast-approaching, the punters in the Transfer Tavern couldn’t be more excited about the imminent crazy summer of business in the Premier League.
The richest league in the world, the decadent summer sprees are only likely to continue and, while it’s a potential exit on the cards in this case, it seems Chelsea are ready to kick things off.
Reports suggest the Blues are close to selling Christian Atsu to Newcastle United in a £6.2m deal after the Ghanian spent the Championship season just gone on loan with Rafa Benitez’s title-winning side.
Much has been made about the Stamford Bridge side’s controversial system in buying young players only to loan them out before selling, though Chelsea look to have made a profit on Atsu despite him never making a competitive first-team appearance.
Not bad business.
So, with that in mind, here’s a look at how Chelsea fans reacted online.
