Our Liverpool fans are looking forward to forgetting this transfer window as it’s been sorely underwhelming for them.

The Reds have not signed anyone this month much to the annoyance of their local punters here by the bar who wanted them to strengthen their title challenge.

Instead, though, they’ve dropped points at home to Swansea and fallen behind Arsenal and Spurs in the title race leaving many in despair here in the Transfer Tavern.

If they’re going to redeem themselves in the market, then, they had better act quickly with the deadline next Tuesday and our landlord reckons they really do need to.

That said, though, our main man behind the bar also thinks the club need to let some players go on loan by next week in order to streamline the quality of the squad.

It could be a busy few days, then, and our landlord reckons these two players should leave Anfield on loan…

Mamadou Sakho

This guy really needs to go surely.

Mamadou Sakho was once a cult hero for Liverpool but things have taken a very sharp turn for the worst since and now he looks set to never play for the club again. The French centre-half was sent home from the club’s pre-season tour of the United States in the summer for poor discipline and things have never been repaired between him and Jurgen Klopp. It’s time to go.

Kevin Stewart

Our landlord, as brutal as this sounds, just does not think Kevin Stewart is good enough to play for Liverpool.

The midfielder isn’t even a young prospect anymore and cannot get near the first team for the Reds unless a cup game against lower-league opposition is on the agenda. He could probably do a good job for a Championship club at least, though, and so should consider a move away before the end of this transfer window.
