Izzy Brown will be available for Leeds following initial injury scare

Izzy Brown featured for the Leeds United Under-23s on Tuesday afternoon, although there was a worrying moment for fans.

The attacker has only just returned to fitness after a lengthy spell on the sidelines with an anterior cruciate ligament injury and was an unused substitute in their Championship match against Middlesbrough at the weekend.

However, he gave fans a scare towards the end of the first half when he suffered a knee to the back and was subsequently taken off at half-time – although it is assumed that was always the plan.

But, Joe Urquhart has revealed that there is nothing for Leeds to worry about regarding the 22-year-old.

The Yorkshire Evening Post journalist revealed that Brown was quite simply ‘fine’ and will still be included in their matchday squad for Wednesday’s game against Swansea City.

The Verdict:

Leeds will be pleased that Brown’s latest ‘knock’ is not too concerning and one that he should be able to shake off relatively quickly.

The 22-year-old has had a torrid time at the club recently and will be looking to make an immediate impression for The Whites as they look to get their promotion ambitions back on track.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side are not currently in the best form, as they have won just two of their last five matches in the Championship and sit in second place, two points behind Norwich City.
