Now, it appears that the England international will move away from the United Kingdom. He has been targetted by MLS teams, whilst there have also been discussions about a potential move to Serie A or La Liga.
Disappointment for Gerrard
There is no doubt that this is a blow to Steven Gerrard if Wilshere does decide against moving to Ibrox. After all, despite his many injuries, the former Arsenal man is a talented footballer who has bags of experience under his belt. In the past, he has received praise from Pep Guardiola, for example, who said he has a “special quality”.

At the moment, the Gers are top of the Premiership, six points ahead of Celtic. It does seem that they are in no desperate need to add players to their squad. However, Wilshere is the kind of player that could give them some extra vision and creativity throughout the campaign, perhaps turning the odd 0-0 into a 1-0 victory. If he does move abroad, Gerrard will be hoping he does not represent a missed opportunity.
