Nobody in the Football Transfer Tavern expected John Obi Mikel to pull this one out…
There was not much noise amongst the Chelsea faithful in the Tavern when the Nigerian midfielder joined Twitter, with many expecting his tweets to be as dull as his performances last season.
However, the Nigerian midfielder has proven us all wrong with his latest effort – with a welcome to Chelsea for David Luiz that wouldn’t look out of place on Michy Batshuayi’s timeline.
The tweet, seen below, references Chelsea’s 2013/14 Champion’s League fixture, which saw Chelsea crash out of the Champions League semi-final against Atletico Madrid.
During the game, David Luiz had quite the battle against current Chelsea forward Diego Costa – with the pair engaging in a number of heated exchanges throughout the match.
The picture included shows Luiz walking away from the Spanish forward-looking close to tears, with a frustrated Diego Costa on the floor next to him.
