Our Sunderland fans here in the Transfer Tavern are wearing pretty glum faces at the moment and you can certainly understand why.
After a tough season last year that culminated in relegation from the Premier League fans had hoped that the club would wipe the slate clean and go again.
Instead, though, they have been left in turmoil with David Moyes walking out and many not knowing exactly how the squad is going to look come the beginning of the campaign.
And now, to add to the uncertainty, the Black Cats have seen the club announce that there will be no takeover now and that Ellis Short will remain.
Fans, then, have certainly reacted to the club’s post on Twitter and so here is the best of what has been said:

I’d rather hear this as ‘no deal’ is better than a bad deal. We’ve got 5 weeks to get a team ready. Let’s do that shall we.
