Harry Kane could make a shock return to the Premier League next summer, after reports in Germany revealed a special clause in his Bayern Munich contract. As first revealed by German publication Bild, TalkSport has reported that Kane can leave Munich for £56.7m next summer as long as he states his intention before the end of this January’s transfer window.
Kane has just under two years remaining on his contract at Bayern Munich, and has already scored a stunning 98 goals in 103 games for the German club. He has already scored 13 times this season, including a hattrick against Hoffenheim last Saturday.
The 32-year-old is arguably at the peak of his powers, and last season ended his long awaited trophy drought by lifting the Bundesliga title and the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup. The German giants look well on their way to defending their title, so far winning all four of their Bundesliga matches.
Kane linked to shock Premier League return

With his trophy duct now broken, many believe he has unfinished business in the Premier League. Kane is the Premier League’s second leading goal scorer of all time with 213 goals. He is just 47 behind Alan Shearer who has 260 goals.
A desire to leave a legacy in the Premier League is a long rumoured ambition of Kane, although it has never been officially confirmed by the player or his representatives. He was previously linked with a return to the Premier League summer, with former club Tottenham as well as Manchester United reportedly interested in his signature.
Tottenham’s bitter rivals Arsenal were also a surprise mention, but no concrete interest materialized. Kane would stay at the Allianz Arena, with many believing he has unfinished business with the German club as well.
Bayern haven’t won the Champions League since 2020, and Kane has previously publicly stated his desire to lift Europe’s most coveted trophy.
Kane finished in 13th place at Monday’s Ballon d’Or ceremony which saw Ousmane Dembele take home the big prize.
