Middlesbrough have had a mixed season on their return to the Premier League and, like many before them, be ultimately looking for that all-important 40 points mark, with the resident fans in the Transfer Tavern hoping that is reached ASAP.
This weekend they face Everton who are in top form, it’ll be a very tough game for Aitor Karanka’s side and one that ultimately will be tough to win or even land a point, especially after their 6-3 hammering of Bournemouth last time out.
Boro and Karanka should know how to approach the game and with the ‘underdog’ mentality, may well sneak away with it. Despite their recent win, Everton themselves have been very inconsistent this season and that could be something to capitalise on!
With that being said it is vital that Karanka gets his selection correct for the game and gives himself a chance of the best possible outcome.
So, thinking about selection it is particularly important that he selects the following two players in his starting XI!
ADAMA TRAORE

The former Barca winger has been a game changer after breaking into the side this season.
He will cause all kinds of problems for the ageing Everton defence this weekend like he has against many sides already! His pace, skill and ability to take people on are his best assets and he is arguably one of the best in the league at doing it! He has to start.
ADAM FORSHAW

At the start of the season, Forshaw was vital in the heart of the Boro midfield and nothing has changed since then.
He was brought in when Grant Leadbitter found himself injured and hasn’t looked back since. Although since the captain has returned there has been a few games he’s been selected over Forshaw. Still, for us, here at the Tavern, Forshaw simply has to start against his former club!
