Liverpool: Fans unhappy with Loris Karius return

It is hard to see Loris Karius having any kind of future at Liverpool.

The German was signed from Mainz 05 for £4.7m in 2016 as Jurgen Klopp looked to solve his problem between the sticks. He was not automatically the number one choice during the 2016/17 campaign, but he did make 16 appearances in all competitions.

It would be the next term that would really be the beginning – and, in a way, the end – of his career at Anfield. He played 19 times in the Premier League, but it was in the Champions League where he really made his mark, although not always for the right reasons. He played in all 13 matches in the tournament, but his two errors in the final against Real Madrid ultimately cost the Reds the trophy.

That was his last game for the club before being sent out on a two-year loan to Besiktas. There were rumours earlier this year that the Turkish outfit were keen to sign him permanently (Fanatik via Sport Witness) but now NTV has said that the 26-year-old has ended his contract with the Black Eagles.
