Could Everton really make an assault on the top four this season?

The Toffees in the Tavern are dreaming and really believe that Ronald Koeman and his young guns can make a late dash into the top four.

Our landlord feels that if Everton manage to break in to the top four, it would be a massive upset but it would be a wonderful story if it happened.

Saying this, Everton have a mixed run in for their last seven fixtures of the Premier League season with games coming against sides above them, as well as sides in the mid-table and the relegation zone, and our landlord believes each week will pose a new challenge for the Toffees.

However, the form of Belgian striker, Romelu Lukaku has been sensational and there is no doubt that if he can maintain his great form for the last few weeks of the season – Everton will have a great chance in their remaining games, especially if the likes of Ross Barkley can provide him with decent service.

With all that in mind, our landlord has looked over the fixture list and outlined the biggest THREE games that he feels will be crucial in Everton’s run-in.

Chelsea (H) – 30 April

With Chelsea looking to wrap up the title, the Blues’ trip to Goodison Park could be a fixture that really can determine what both sides achieve at the end of the season.

Antonio Conte’s team has been really impressive this season but if Ronald Koeman and his men can get a positive result from this fixture – they can really end the season strongly.

Swansea City (A) – 6 May

A trip to Wales to fight relegation candidates Swansea will be no easy feat for the Toffees especially as Paul Clement’s men will be fighting for their lives in the closing weeks of the Premier League season.

Our landlord believes that any game against a team batting against relegation is always a potential banana skin for any side and Ronald Koeman’s men will have to be wary of Swansea.

Arsenal (A) – 21 May

With the Gunners in absolute disarray at the moment, the Toffees in the Tavern are confident that they can at least finish above Arsene Wenger’s men come the end of the season.

Our landlord agrees that Ronald Koeman’s men really have a good chance of finishing above Arsenal and this game will be of huge magnitude, especially if the league position between the two sides are as close as they are currently.
