Things haven’t really gone Naby Keita’s way since he joined Liverpool in 2018.
The Reds actually paid a then club-record fee a year earlier to secure his services, but he spent the 2017/18 campaign on loan with former club RB Leipzig. Such a sum meant that he had big expectations on his shoulders when he arrived, but he has unfortunately been unable to live up to them. So far, he has played just 51 times for the Reds, with injuries doing his cause no favours at all.
There have been rumours that he could return to Leipzig due to his failure to make the grade at Anfield, but Liverpool reporter James Pearce certainly feels that his story on Merseyside is far from complete. He said in a Q&A for The Athletic on Thursday: “Klopp isn’t one to give up on people easily, especially if your attitude is good and you are fully committed to the cause. Naby Keita certainly ticks that box.”
These quotes have been shared by Twitter page Anfield Edition, and it has the fans reacting in their droves, with one labelling the midfielder a ‘baller.’

He will come good – Bobby didn’t hit the ground running – he will be a great player for us next season

I love naby but it will be very hard to change things around. I feel to be in a Klopp midfield u have to be able to run through walls- physicality is not his best suit. Still a baller but has to stay fit to make it a conversation.

That’s why he’s held on to lallana and Shaq and also Lovren
Coz they delivered when they had to though not in the opening lineup

One of the best records @LFC this season. Doing something right. He looks hit and miss but when he grows into a game he looks like he could be class
