The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are already looking ahead of next week’s FA Cup clash against Chelsea…
A significant game for more than a few reasons, victory for the Red Devils will take them one step closer to securing a domestic cup double in the Premier League, whilst Jose Mourinho will also likely be looking to get one up on the club that sacked him just over a year ago.
It has all the makings of a top fixture, but it would appear as though one player is likely to miss it.
As confirmed by BBC Sport, the FA have now officially charged Zlatan Ibrahimovic for violent conduct following an incident with Tyrone Mings in Man Utd’s clash with Bournemouth.
If found guilty, Ibrahimovic would not only miss the FA Cup quarter-final against Chelsea, but also vital league games against Middlesbrough and West Brom – should he be given the regular 3 game ban.
This is undoubtedly a big blow for the Red Devils, given that Ibrahimovic has been vital this year. He has already scored 15 goals this season, having been Man Utd’s main threat going forward.
The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern, meanwhile, have been licking their lips at the prospect of Zlatan missing the game. Undoubtedly their most important player, the Blues are pretty confident now.
Our landlord thinks that the game will be a tough one for Chelsea with or without Ibrahimovic lining up against them – with the likes of Herrera, Pogba and Mata all in rich form at present.
