Sheffield Wednesday may have struggled for points since the turn of the year but there are positive signs emerging through the form of certain key players.
The likes of Steven Fletcher and Fernando Forestieri showed their importance against Charlton with respective WhoScored ratings of 7.3 and 7.7, but it was Kieran Lee who had many fans talking after the match.
Lee has mostly stayed clear of injury so far this campaign, playing 22 times in the Championship and making five assists in that time, the same amount that he has managed in the previous three seasons combined. Indeed, the 31-year-old has been a long-time servant of the club and is showing that he is determined to prove that he deserves to be kept on beyond the current season, since his contract expires in the summer.
Against the Addicks, he displayed his all-round game with four tackles and three key passes (via WhoScored), enabling him to put the Owls’ on the front-foot, and he earned praise from these supporters as a result.
