Koeman must ask the owners to sanction these 3 January deals

Our Everton fans here in the Transfer Tavern are starting to feel positive again, well you would after beating Arsenal.

The Toffees were absolutely superb against the Gunners on Tuesday night with the way they bounced back from going behind and looked like the Everton of old that could give anyone a game.

Certainly, ahead of the Merseyside Derby that’ll have come as a real tonic whilst with January looming large Ronald Koeman will want his team to look as attractive as possible to potential new recruits.

The club are going to be aiming for European qualification this season and if they can use their new financial muscle to good effect, who’s to say they won’t do just that after all.

Our landlord certainly thinks Everton have every chance of finishing in the top seven and reckons Koeman will have already been rapping on the owner’s door to ask for funds to sign players.

But who? We hear you ask, these three – says our landlord…

Morgan Schneiderlin

The French midfielder is class and deserves to be playing more regularly in the Premier League than he is at the moment.

He hasn’t had the chance to prove his worth under Jose Mourinho and doesn’t look like he’s going to either so our landlord reckons he’s got to move on soon. He’d be brilliant for Everton, though, and Koeman should do his best to get him in once the January window creaks open for business.

Memphis Depay

The same can largely be said for Depay at United.

The winger joined the Old Trafford side with plenty of promise earlier on in his career but has underwhelmed horribly and likely needs a move to pick that up again. There’s every chance he could, though, under his countryman Koeman and that could leave Everton with a very talented player on their books indeed for a, likely, reasonable cost.

Rodrigo

Rodrigo

The former Benfica man is now at Valencia and they are truly in trouble this season in La Liga.

If last season was bad with the likes of Gary Neville this season is proving even worse for the men from the Mestalla. That, then, could mean some of their best players could ask to leave which is where Everton should come in. They need an extra striker to take the load off of Lukaku and so signing Rodrigo would fit the bill nicely.
