It’s almost as if the Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern are waking up to a new signing every day from their club…

The Toffees have been extremely hasty this summer to get their transfers business over and done with before we get into the nitty gritty of pre-season.

Toffees boss Ronald Koeman has already sealed deals for Burnley centre-back Michael Keane, Sunderland shot-stopper Jordan Pickford and Henry Onyekuru.

Davy Klaassen of Ajax and Malaga’s Sandro Ramirez have also been welcomed to Goodison Park.

Koeman’s side are shaping up to be real contenders for a top six finish this season if the manager gets his new team gelling from the off.

There are players in several areas of the park that now face stiff competition for places.

But take a look at the TWO players Koeman must start against Stoke City on the opening day…

Ashley Williams

The Welshman is likely to take the captain’s armband from a departing Phil Jagielka this season. Williams, who arrived at Goodison Park last summer, was a superb addition to Koeman’s side.

The 32-year-old will likely partner up with Michael Keane at the back, who recently moved to Goodison Park from Burnley.

His experience will be important as Everton embark on a transitional campaign under Ronald Koeman.

Jordan Pickford

If Jordan Pickford was not at Sunderland last season, he might have cost a whole lot more than what Everton paid for him. His performances were arguably one of Sunderland’s best players, and without him, their relegation would have likely be confirmed far sooner.

The shot-stopper was outstanding for the Black Cats, saving them from embarrassment in a number of last years matches.

The Englishman made 11 saves in one particular outing against Arsenal and many in the Transfer Tavern have tipped him to become England’s number one.
