The 19 year-old was a prominent figure in the under-23 side last term and our fans-by-the-bar are discussing whether Dowell will remain at the club beyond this summer considering the strength in depth of Wayne Rooney and Ross Barkley in that efficient attacking midfield role.

His efforts for the 2016/17 season were rewarded with a call-up to the England under-20 national team for their World Cup campaign, and bagged himself a goal during the tournament.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is almost the forgotten striker at Goodison Park following Everton’s imposing additions over the last few weeks, leaving the youngster a large gap to fill as talisman Romelu Lukaku departs for pastures new.
