Laurent Koscielny is still technically the Arsenal club captain, although that might not stand for much longer after his agent has come out with some fairly outrageous comments. According to The Independent, Stephane Courbis, Laurent Koscielny’s agent, had been discussing a move away from The Emirates with offers from France and China on the table before he sustained his achilles injury.

For the fans, it’s never nice to hear that the only reason your club captain stuck around is because he sustained a nasty injury last season. The French defender was one of the best in the Premier League for a time before his frailties really set in. Now, it looks like the 32-year-old will be on his way out of The Emirates at the end of the season, with the fans not taking kindly to his agents’ words.
Courbis claims that Koscielny was considering leaving England before he tore his achilles last season and that the Frenchman felt that the time was right to leave, with a new coach coming in. There were “two or three offers” that were making Courbis and Koscielny think very hard. The defender claimed he couldn’t have signed for another team in England outside of Arsenal, but that hasn’t gone far with appeasing the supporters.
You can read the betrayed Gunners’ verdict on Koscielny here:
He shouldave gone.. he’s not good enough to play for arsenal.. too slow , too many mistakes, liability. Bit like most of our defenders..

We should bin him at the end of the season anyway. Time to move on.

The fans are far from pleased with these comments from Koscielny’s camp and they’ll be pleased to see the back of him next summer.
