Kylian Mbappe and Neymar both suffer injuries ahead of Liverpool clash

Liverpool will meet Paris Saint-Germain in their next Champions League game as they look to try and progress to the next round of the competition.

The Reds currently have six points, along with Napoli, whilst the French giants have five and Red Star Belgrade have four in what has proven to be a really tight group.

The Anfield outfit will travel to Paris to meet the Ligue One side this time next week, but it appears that Jurgen Klopp’s side may be able to have benefitted from the international break.

According to a report by The Sun, both Neymar and Kylian Mbappe were injured whilst in action and will be huge doubts for PSG.

The Brazilian had to limp off after just six minutes with a thigh injury whilst the French striker had to be withdrawn with a shoulder problem.

The Verdict:

Should the pair not be available for PSG in a week’s time, it will certainly be a huge boost for Liverpool and Klopp and their chances of picking up the three points.

Both are obvious threats going forward and, although they will still have the likes of Edison Cavani to deal with, the defence will enjoy themselves a lot more without Neymar and Mbappe in the mix.

However, the pair could still be available as the injuries are not thought to be too serious, although Liverpool will wait on the news as anxiously as PSG and Thomas Tuchel will as well.
