Liverpool will likely look to be busy during the upcoming transfer window, and Jurgen Klopp may have an eye on his former Borussia Dortmund player Mario Gotze.
The 27-year-old was once one of the shining lights in football, helping Die Schwarzgelben reach a Champions League final in 2013. Not only that, he scored the winner in the World Cup final a year later after lifting the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich – it looked like he would be at the top of the game for a while.
Unfortunately, though, his career took a nosedive. A significant health issue damaged his form, and he is now back at Dortmund as a bit-part player – he has made just 19 appearances in all competitions this term.
He has now confirmed that he will be leaving the Bundesliga outfit on a free transfer at the end of the campaign, which has led to Liverpool fans discussing the German international.
The Anfield Edition Twitter page has asked their followers whether they would like to see him replace Adam Lallana, and there were some interesting responses with one labelling him the ‘German Joe Cole’. You can see some of the best replies below.
No, he’s failing out of every club left and right. Being good once doesn’t mean he’ll always be.

Always loved him under Klopp , and I’m pretty sure he’ll be a beast again under his management .
Hope he’ll be in our team next season 👌— the Ned (@henedersonn) April 9, 2020
He is finished at the highest level. Injuries ruined his career.

On a free and depending on wages its kinda a no brainer IMO. 27 he still has something to offer.
