The Tottenham fans in and around the Transfer Tavern are really starting to worry about the lack of transfer activity around the club, with the fans hoping this could be the season that they can launch a considerable title bid.
Spurs are renowned as the team that puts the pressure on but when it comes to winning trophies, they don’t have the quality to go all the way. With their new stadium almost completed, the fans are eagerly awaiting new talented signings that could match that ambition. A player who has taken the interest of some of our punters is Thorgan Hazard, who is valued at £19.8 million on Transfermarkt.
Thorgan, brother of Chelsea player Eden Hazard has been making waves in the Bundesliga, helping Borussia Monchengladbach to a 9th place finish, as well as individually claiming 11 goals and 9 assists in all competitions. The 25-year-old is currently at the World Cup with Belgian and he will be determined to prove that he is a great player, much like his brother.
Tottenham have really struggled in the past few seasons for squad depth and with the potential addition of Thorgan Hazard, Spurs have already taken a step to securing a more all-round team, with the ability to play in a number of different systems. Thorgan Hazard can play anywhere across the front-line, which would bring an element of unpredictably to Tottenham, something they don’t currently have with their players.
Whether Tottenham would pursue Hazard is a question only the club knows the answer too but the importance of squad depth cannot be underestimated and Hazard would be the perfect player to be used in a variety of situations and games across the season.
