The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are tired of their side’s lack of goalkeeping options. The Reds’ squad is filled with exciting talent and quality, but between the sticks, they’re looking pretty weak.
Simon Mignolet moved to Anfield with a lot of expectation, but he has struggled to really make an impact. He’s been the first choice over the last few years, but he has done very little to suggest that he is worthy of being Klopp’s primary option.
Likewise, Loris Karius was an exciting signing, but his adjustment to the Premier League has been far from smooth. He doesn’t look comfortable, and there aren’t really any signs of impending improvement.
It would make sense, then, for Jurgen Klopp to think about the future. He’s reportedly set to call upon Loris Karius for the rest of the season in an effort to assess his consistency, but even so, our landlord isn’t sure that the German is the right player to take Liverpool forward.
Instead, perhaps Klopp should look to land 1 of these 2 impressive shot-stoppers…
Alisson

Liverpool have been linked with a move for Alisson over the last few weeks, and it’s easy to see why.
The Brazilian has been fantastic for Roma as of late, providing consistent and high-quality goalkeeping for the Italian giants. He’s a regular for both club and country, and that should serve as a testament to his quality.
At 25-years-old, he’s still developing, and he’s young enough to be a long-term solution for the Reds.
He won’t be cheap, but he’d be worth every penny.
Timo Horn

Timo Horn is another top goalkeeper that is very talented.
He’s young, at 24-years-old, but like Alisson, he’s got bags of experience.
Currently playing in the Bundesliga, he’s a regular for FC Koln, providing fantastic shot-stopping and aerial dominance for the German outfit.
He’s undoubtedly one of the most talented young goalkeepers in Europe, and so Klopp would be wise to invest now. He’s a little less refined than Alisson, but his ceiling is just as high.
