Liverpool: Fans discuss rumours of Xherdan Shaqiri leaving the club

Plenty of Liverpool fans have been discussing the future of midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri after previously hinting about a potential exit.

The 28-year-old expressed his frustrations back in the summer due to his lack of first team football during his first season at the club. He only featured 24 times in the Premier League last season and has made just six appearances during the current campaign (as per TransferMarkt), and told Langenthaler Tagblatt (cited by Bleacher Report via Sunday Mirror) that he was disappointed with having to sit on the bench.

Manager Jurgen Klopp bought the Switzerland international from Stoke City for £13m in 2018 and he initially looked to be an astute signing by the German tactician but recent reports from Football Insider suggest he is keen to move away. With that in mind, some supporters were frustrated with him and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan questioned whether he even played football, while another described him as a “good talent wasted”.
