Our Sunderland fans here in the Transfer Tavern are intrigued to see how Simon Grayson does this season with him being confirmed as the club’s new manager last night.
The Black Cats have had a typically tumultuous summer so far with players leaving like Jermain Defoe, David Moyes walking out and the decision by Ellis Short to now not sell the club.
For sure, then, it’s been hectic but they do at least have someone in charge now that knows what he is doing in the Championship – particularly on a shoestring budget.
Indeed, Grayson has been well liked in many of his jobs with the likes of Leeds fans and Preston fans pleased with what he has done for their club before.
He could, then, be the man that Sunderland need though some are still not sure so here is the best of a mixed reaction to the appointment on Twitter:
