The deal will keep the 17-year-old at Fratton Park for two years, with Pompey holding the option to add another year:

The defender, who can also play in midfield, has never played for the Portsmouth first team, but has represented Wales at under-16s and under-17 level, as well as impressing in the academy.

Judging by the replies to the announcement, it seems that word of the teenager’s ability has already spread wide among sections of Pompey’s fanbase, as many supporters are excited to see him committing his future to the club.

Some are even suggesting that he should be tried in the first team alongside Christian Burgess straight away, with Oli Hawkins still out injured following the Carabao Cup loss against Southampton.
