Leeds fans on Twitter gutted for O’Kane as he suffers horror injury

Leeds United took to Twitter today, with a link to the Leeds United website, to share the news that Eunan O’Kane would be returning from his loan with Luton Town. During Luton’s 1-0 win over Bristol Rovers, the midfielder suffered a double leg break and it’s unlikely he’ll be able to play until at least next season.

The Irish international wasn’t fancied by Marcelo Bielsa for the Championship season and whilst the supporters were all pleased to see that he’d be playing his football elsewhere this season, the news of his injury is still gutting to hear. The career of a professional footballer is already a short one and to lose a further year with an injury is heart-wrenching, the fans all understand this and have been wishing him well in his recovery.

If he can get fit and back out by the start of next season he could be lucky enough to feature in the Premier League. Leeds United are unbeaten in the Championship and after Middlesbrough lost to Norwich they’re the only side yet to taste defeat. They could be set for a long-awaited return to the top flight and it would be a lovely touch to see O’Kane recover from his injury and get back into the Whites first team.
