Yesterday saw quite a few shocks in the FA Cup 3rd round. League Two side’s Newport County and Oldham Athletic engineered wins over Premier League Leicester City and Fulham. However, one result that was less of a shock came at Loftus Road, as a much-changed Leeds side lost 2-1 against QPR, although the Leeds fans are happy with that.

Goals from Aramide Oteh and Jake Bidwell saw the hosts progress, despite Aapo Halme’s equaliser for the Whites in the first half before Bidwell eventually sealed the result in the second half. Whilst it may now be three losses in a row for Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds, this loss is one that the fans really won’t be too fussed about, they made a lot changes ahead of their trip to London and can now focus on the league.
It’s no secret that Championship sides don’t tend to take the FA Cup very seriously, and yesterday was no different for the Whites. This season looks like it could finally be their year to return to the promised land of the Premier League under Bielsa, and the last thing the fans want is increased injury problems caused by having to play more games in competitions like the Carabao and FA Cup, so you can understand why they’re pleased with this year’s cup exit.

Surely no Leeds fan is actually arsed about this? Best result we could’ve had, definitely didn’t want a replay. Time to focus on the league as we’ve actually got that to play for this season/p>— Jack Emptage (@Jemppyyy) 6 January 2019
Job done.

And we progress to the Premiership. I’m fine with that.

The Whites hate the idea of extra fixture congestion and will be pleased that they’re not in the hat for the 4th round, and better yet, pleased that they don’t have a replay against QPR.
