Yesterday, Leeds beat Hull City 1-0 in the Championship thanks to a stunner from Tyler Roberts. however, for Liam Cooper, the result wasn’t the most important thing on the night. The Whites’ club captain was seen holding up a Leeds shirt with the words ‘Stay Strong Toby’ printed on the back, in support of 5-year-old Toby Nye, a Leeds fans suffering from Neuroblastoma.

To see their club captain standing up to support a young child with cancer was a warming sight for the Whites who will be proud to support such a classy club. Liam Cooper has turned his form around this season after coming under fire for a lot of last season. The fans will be desperate to gain promotion this year and for Cooper, it will be a brilliant touch if he can dedicate promotion to Toby, who loves Leeds United.
Most football fans will be well aware of neuroblastoma as a result of six-year-old Bradley Lowery, the young Sunderland fan who passed away in summer 2017 after a long battle with cancer. It’s always a horrible thing to see a child fighting such an awful illness but the support that both Sunderland and Leeds have shown to the young supporters suffering has been superb and it’s a testament to the clubs the lengths they go to support the fans.
