Garry Monk is doing a sublime job at Birmingham Cty. The club are now nine games unbeaten in the Championship after they masterminded a huge 1-0 win away at Stoke City over the weekend and following the game, Monk took to Twitter to laud the Blues fans for their support, although his tweet didn’t go down too well with Leeds fans.
A huge three points! It wouldn't have been possible without you, the noisiest away fans in the league! #KRO pic.twitter.com/roHDdXcPrO

Monk’s time at Leeds in the 2016/17 season will ultimately be remembered for the Whites bottling a playoff spot despite having it pretty much in the bag. However, he’s since bounced back from disappointment at Elland Road and is doing a great job with Birmingham. After he claimed that Birmingham have the noisiest away fans in the Championship, plenty of Leeds fans took the bait and started having a pop at Monk for his tweet.
When it comes to Leeds United, the fans pride themselves ore on their support than they do on their club’s football at times, and this is one of those. At the end of the day, it’s the result on the pitch that matters and whilst Leeds lost 2-1 away at Blackburn they obviously weren’t happy, leading them to bite at Monk’s tweet to round off a pretty miserable day for them. All in all, though, they’re still well in the title race and a lot of supporters will be confident that come next season they’ll have finally escaped the Championship.

The Leeds fans are fuming at Monk’s tweet and will be keen to show him just how good their fans are when they travel to St Andrew’s in April next year.
