Leeds did well yesterday to grind out a 1-0 win over struggling Reading at Elland Road last night. The Whites’ only goal came through Stuart Dallas and Bailey Peacock-Farrell saved a late penalty to give Leeds all three points, however, the fans were far from happy in the first half when Ezgjan Alioski put in one of the worst dives you’ll see this season in an attempt to win a penalty.
Yellow card: I know Leeds haven't had a penalty in 56 games but that dive from Alioski is about the worst you'll see all season. 45th minute. #lufc

The Macedonian winger was rightly booked for his antics, and when you consider that Leeds haven’t been awarded a penalty in 56 games, you can see why when you have a look at the disgusting attempt to win one from their winger. It was one of those moments where even the Leeds fans were laughing at him, and it won’t help the winger’s cause as he tries to win over some of the fans after becoming something of a scapegoat to the Elland Road faithful.
All the fans seem to see from Alioski is plenty of running up and down the left flank and an obscene amount of offside calls against the 26-year-old. However, he does offer a lot to the side as an outlet. In 18 Championship appearances, he’s managed three goals and three assists, averaging a goal involvement every three games which isn’t an awful return for a winger. However, it’s not helping to get the fans off his back and if he has another go at diving like he did last night then he’ll only bring on the boo-boys even more.

Other than running a lot he doesn’t offer anything. He needs replacing in January as he’s simply not good enough.

Worth taking off for. Poor dive.

Plenty of Leeds fans were fuming with Alioski’s attempt to win a penalty and would be keen to see him left out for a few games.
