Our Leeds United fans here in the Transfer Tavern think they’ve got every chance of returning to the Premier League at last this season with Charlie Taylor handing them a timely boost.
The Whites head to Birmingham City tonight in the latest test of their play-off credentials – one many of our local Leeds punters feel they will deal with in decent fashion.
Garry Monk has a nice selection headache to deal with ahead of it, too, with Taylor back in full training and ready to compete with the impressive Gaetano Berardi for that left-back spot.
The Englishman seems ready for the challenge, though, as he revealed to the club’s official website that he is raring to get back out on the turf.
The defender said:
“I feel good, in the last few weeks the physios have put me through a lot of tough and demanding sessions, which have brought me up to speed.
“In training I feel strong and fit and I can’t wait to get back out on to the pitch playing in games again.”
Bright news for our Leeds fans here by the bar to digest, then, but what they really want now is for Taylor to prove his commitment and sort a new contract out.
He’s one of the brightest players outside of the Premier League right now, too, and so if the Whites cannot tie him down for the foreseeable future you get the feeling plenty of sides are going to come calling.
