Leeds owner agrees deal in principle to sell club to fans group

Massimo CellinoLeeds United fans in The Transfer Tavern are delighted at the news that club owner Massimo Cellino has agreed a deal in principle to sell the club.

The Metro is reporting that Cellino has decided to call time on his disastrous spell as owner of the club, and he fully believes that the fans are the best option to take the club forward.

The reign of Cellino has been anything but a smooth ride during the Italians tenure at the club, the managers have come and gone during his time in charge, and controversy has surrounded the Italian who was recently banned by the Football League for the second time after being found guilty of tax evasion in Italy for a second time. Speaking about the deal, Cellino said

“100% I will sell to the fans, if they want to buy it and look after the club. The fans are the only asset the club has. I’m sad and embarrassed. My dream was to do my best but I’ve achieved nothing and family aren’t even with me.”

“I’m trying to protect the club but at the same time it means I have exposed myself. The result is that the fans say “Massimo it’s time to go”’.

The Leeds fans in The Transfer Tavern are delighted with the news and are hopeful that an end to Cellino’s reign will come sooner rather than later.
