Responding to a tweet by Sporting Life journalist Tom Carndruff, many Leeds fans have been in full debate over the hypothetical possibility of a voided season potentially scrapping promotion hopes – with that outcome being the ‘most Leeds United thing ever‘ and ‘just our luck‘.
Due to the outbreak of coronavirus, with leagues across Europe being suspended until further notice, the Premier League and EFL announced that all fixtures this weekend would be postponed also until April 3rd at the earliest – resulting in huge debate across social media from supporters.
Most recently, high profile footballing figures including Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta and Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi were diagnosed with the infection – with governing bodies responding promptly and cancelling all future fixtures. This, of course, postpones Leeds’ promotion chase, leaving Marcelo Bielsa’s side at the top of the table but unable to progress for the time being.
As a result, fans have debated the theory that this season could be made void if things escalate any further – find all of their best comments down below.

Leeds United finishing 1st in the Championship and then playing next season in the Championship could be the most Leeds United thing ever.

Will never happen. Not a chance the league gets voided with no promotion / relegation.

With 80% of season played, result should stand, just as it would if 80% of a match was played before being abandoned.

After 16 years I think all I’ve got the energy left to do is a Partridge style shrug…
