Responding to a post by the Athletic journalist Phil Hay surrounding Jean-Kevin Augustin and Ian Poveda, many Whites supporters have been in full debate on social media over the pair – with some supporters blasting the ‘mind boggling‘ recruitment strategy and ‘pointless‘ signings.
The duo, who both signed for the club in January, are currently stuck on the sidelines – with the two players yet to have a monumental impact for Marcelo Bielsa’s side. Augustin, who signed on an initial loan deal from RB Leipzig, is currently out of action due to a minor hamstring strain – meanwhile, fellow window addition Poveda will have to wait for his Leeds United debut given the fact Bielsa said the squad for the Huddersfield game would be the ‘same‘ as their last match (Yorkshire Live).
In response, many Whites supporters have been debating the update – in particular the validity of these signings. Supporters have shown a diverse range of opinions on Twitter, with some fans talking about the recruitment strategy in particular.

Good after a win like that I can see why he wouldn’t change it. Beilsa’s always said he doesn’t like jan signings as takes too long to get upto speed.

Everybody calling for Poveda to be included. I’ll wager most have never seen him play before. I’ve watched him in the u23’s. Jordan Stevens is far better and deserves that spot in the squad at the moment
