Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds side returned to the top of the Championship with a 2-0 win over Hull City on Tuesday night, courtesy of an own goal from Jordy de Wijs and a strike from Gjanni Alioski.
Leeds fans are of course buzzing about their win against the Tigers, but plenty have pointed to the wastefulness of Mateusz Klich as he surrendered the ball 20 times.
The Poland international has become a fan favourite at Elland Road due to his long-range screamers and ability to get under the opposition’s skin.
Tuesday was no different, as fans loved him shushing the Hull bench after the Whites’ second goal, but that hasn’t stopped supporters from lashing out at his poor play, particularly in the first half.
Indeed, the 29 year-old lost possession a whopping 20 times, per Sofascore, with one fan even asking if he had forgotten how to pass. He also completed just 38 passes at a rate of 77%.
His work rate was phenomenal as usual and he helped set up the second goal, but that hasn’t stopped some fans from being disappointed over his sloppy play on the ball…
Costa the main threat. Pablo has his left and right bootlaces tied together and therefore really poor. Bamford not making the right runs. Klich making wrong decisions. #lufc

Has Klich forgotten how to pass the ball tonight? A lot of misplaced passes from the whole team actually #lufc

I honestly can’t take another one of Klich’s trickling cutbacks. #lufc

Klich dining off his goal last month. An absolute passenger.
