Former Leeds United star David Norris insists that Ian Poveda’s career at the club is as good as over following his loan move to Blackburn Rovers.
The winger has departed the club on a short-term deal in search of first-team football in the Championship.
Poveda moved to Leeds in 2019/20 from Manchester City after a chequered youth career in which he also played for both Arsenal and Barcelona.
Should Leeds sell Poveda?
Poveda made 20 senior appearances for the club prior to his loan move and played 14 times in the Premier League last term, although he did not make a league start.
Norris now thinks that the winger’s career at Leeds is essentially over, as he has failed to play regularly in recent seasons.
Poveda made his Blackburn debut against Middlesbrough, providing an assist in the 1-1 draw in the Championship and will be hoping to help Rovers push towards the play-offs this term.
Speaking to Football FanCast, Norris said: “I mean, I think we’ve said before about Bielsa, if you’re not for him and he doesn’t trust you, that’s normally the end of it.
“And I feel like with this one, it’s not that he’s not been given a chance or they’re just wanting to get him some games, I think that’ll be the end of him. I’d expect him to move on.”
