Writing for LeicestershireLive, journalist Jordan Blackwell has confirmed that there has been ‘no contact’ made between Leicester City and Burnley defender James Tarkowski ‘yet’ – but Clarets boss Sean Dyche has stated that he does have his price.
Tarkowski, who is valued at a whopping £50 million by his current club, has impressed over the last two seasons at Turf Moor – forming a solid partnership with Ben Mee and helping Burnley remain in the top flight despite lack of significant investment.

Brendan Rodgers and co have targeted Tarkowski before, launching a £30m bid last summer which was swiftly rejected, with Leicester now potentially needing to fork out a lot more if they hope to land the Englishman.
As well as this, Burnley are in no hurry to entertain offers, with Dyche recently stating that the club are in a ‘very strong’ position to ward off potential interest in the ‘surreal‘ defender.
According to WhoScored, Tarkowski started all of the Clarets’ 38 top flight matches over 2019/2020 – winning an impressive 5.2 aerial duels per 90 and picking up six Man of the Match awards.
The 27-year-old also racked up an average of 1.7 interceptions in that time and 5.3 clearances – more than any Leicester centre-half managed over last season – marking him out as a colossal figure in Burnley’s back line.
Taking his numbers into account, it’s little wonder why their valuation of Tarkowski is sky high – with the Foxes potentially needing to break their transfer record, once set by the acquisition of Youri Tielemans, to land him.
Whether or not the club do invest heavily in a pursuit remains to be seen, but as of yet, there has been ‘no contact’.
