Less than a month to go: Everton should move quickly to sign at least 1 of these 3 players

The Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern are thrilled with their club’s activity in this summer’s transfer market.

Whilst losing a player of Romelu Lukaku’s calibre was a major blow, it would have been softened by Wayne Rooney returning to the club that developed him as a youngster.

Alongside Rooney, a statement has been made by the club in the form of more major transfer activity with the likes of Michael Keane, Davy Klaassen, Jordan Pickford and Sandro Ramirez following Rooney through the gates at Goodison Park

However, our landlord doesn’t believe that this should be the end of business from Everton and he believes that Koeman needs to move fast and make one or two signings, in order to push the Toffees into a top four place.

This has sparked up a big debate among the Everton fans in the Tavern.

Our landlord has made a shortlist of three players and he feels that Koeman simply must sign at least one of these men before the window slams shut.

Let’s take a look at the list here…

Gylfi Sigurdsson

Gylfi Sigurdsson is one of Europe’s most talented midfielders, and Everton could be the perfect home for him.

The Toffees lack that technical edge that the Icelandic international would bring, particular with Ross Barkley faltering, and he could just be the final piece of the puzzle for Ronald Koeman.

He’ll be a pricey addition, but he will be worth every penny.

Olivier Giroud

Olivier Giroud has been a key part of Arsenal’s first team since moving to the Emirates, but now could be the time for him to take his leave.

The signing of Alexandre Lacazette will undoubtedly push him to the sidelines, and he is unlikely to want to stay there all season long.

He could take over the role left behind by Romelu Lukaku, with his deadly finishing and physical presence drawing parallels to the Belgian former blue.

Winston Reid

There is a decent amount of depth in the Everton defence, but Koeman could certainly do with a bit more.

That could come in the form of Winston Reid – West Ham’s central defender that has been so consistent since moving to the Premier League.

If Ronald Koeman wants an option that will deliver week after week, there is arguably very few defenders in the Premier League that would do a better job than Reid.

The Toffees have been linked lately, so a move could happen.
