Let down: These 2 Leeds United players have been awful this season

Leeds United fans here in the Tavern are hoping that their side can challenge for promotion next season, after a less than convincing campaign that has seen fall way short of the play-offs.

The Whites have had a season to forget in many respects as they failed to make the most of a promising position towards the start of the current campaign, as sacking Thomas Christiansen has now proven to be a big mistake. Indeed, Paul Heckingbottom has struggled to produce positive results since taking over back in February, as Leeds have taken a step backwards under the Englishman.

Although, a couple of the club’s first-team members can be blamed for Leeds’ poor campaign, as they’ve struggled for consistency and can’t seem to keep the opposition at bay. Therefore, Paul Heckingbottom will be watching his players closely from here on in until the end of the season, as failing to improve could bring about some unwanted movement in the summer transfer window.

Nevertheless, here’s a look at TWO Leeds United players that have been awful this season…

Pawel Cibicki

Pawel Cibicki has been one of the worst signings in the club’s recent history as he continues to stagnate behind the scenes, after joining from Swedish side Malmo FF in the summer transfer window.

Indeed, the 24-year-old has struggled to come to terms with English football so far this season, as he hasn’t feature for Leeds United since the beginning of February in what has been a poor start to life in the Championship.

Therefore, the Swede has been one of the worst players at the club in the current campaign, with many of our local residents wanting to see him gone in the summer months.

Jay-Roy Grot

Jay-Roy Grot is another example of a summer transfer window purchase that hasn’t paid off for the Whites, as he continues to feed off limited opportunities in the side with only one goal to his name thus far.

Sadly, the 20-year-old has found it difficult to adjust to English football since joining from Dutch side NEC Nijmegen, with many of our local residents wanting to see him go out on loan in the summer.

The youngster has been one of the worst players at the club in the current campaign, as he’s failed to contribute enough during his appearances in the side.
