The United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been discussing comments from their manager Jose Mourinho. The Portuguese tactician claimed that whilst the club are going to invest to improve their squad, they have some younger players who need to take opportunities go continue their development. The United fans propping our bar up will be looking forward to the FA Cup final on May 19th after they edged out Tottenham 2-1 at Wembley on Saturday. After the game, Mourinho was asked whether he would be investing in the summer and whilst he admitted that he would be spending some of the club’s funds in the upcoming transfer window, he also claimed that the club has lots of young players that need to take their opportunities.
The Manchester United squad currently has a plethora of young stars in their senior side. Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Scott McTominay have all had magnificent seasons so far this campaign, despite the fact that all of them have suffered from limited game time at Old Trafford this season. The youth policy at Old Trafford has been a tradition carried down throughout the years, with the development of young players being a key feature at the club. The fans will be eager to see Mourinho continue this as they look forward to another season under the ex-Real Madrid and Chelsea manager.
