Chelsea fans could well be set for some more good news here in the Football Transfer Tavern, according to the latest reports in Metro.
One of the hottest properties in Europe looks as if they want to join the Blues.
As our landlord notes, we have spent a fair bit of time talking about Saint-Etienne’s Kurt Zouma and the fact that he is highly sought after, not to mention the fact that Chelsea are rather keen on him.
Just to remind us, before he pours a pint, the boss notes that three clubs are thought to be in the race for the starlet and Chelsea seem to be winning the race.
In news that does not shock us at all, the deciding factor for the player seems to be Jose Mourinho, with Zouma gushing about the self styled Special One.
“A phone call from Mourinho? It is true,” he said.
“At first I thought it was a joke. When a great man like Jose Mourinho contacts a small player like Kurt Zouma – that offers great pride.
“If I was told to join Chelsea, I would go immediately. It will be down to the coach, though, to make the call.”
Chelsea will have to pay around £13 million to land the player and our regulars think that is a better deal than our beer and burger special!
The Blues of course wrapped up their first signing of the January transfer window yesterday in the form of Benfica midfielder Nemanja Matic.
Is £13 million peanuts for a player of Zouma’s potential? Let us know your thoughts below.
