The Daily Mirror have made Liverpool fans smile here in the Football Transfer Tavern after claiming that while winger Eduardo Salvio will pen a new deal with his current club Benfica, he is looking to get an affordable buyout clause inserted.
The star is currently trying to get the Portuguese side to reduce the £43 million buyout amount in his current deal – something that has obviously put a fair few clubs off making a move for him.
As one of our punters notes over a pint, Reds boss Brendan Rodgers seems to be far happier looking at wingers and forwards to bring into the club than a defender – and with the Reds looking more than a little bit shaky at the back at times this season, we think they need to bring in at least a couple of defensive minded players this summer.
We also think making sure the likes of Jordan Henderson remain at the club should be a top priority for the club and considering the form of Liverpool in the last six games and the impact Henderson has had, we think he is far more important than a new player.
