Liverpool are determined to put a disappointing 2025/26 campaign firmly behind them.
The Reds failed to defend their Premier League title, ended the season without silverware and saw several expensive signings struggle to make the desired impact, leading to Arne Slot’s departure and the appointment of Andoni Iraola.
The new boss has already begun reshaping the squad, with youngsters Jérémy Jacquet and Víctor Muñoz arriving for a combined fee of more than €100 million.
Now, Liverpool appear to be targeting another exciting prospect—one who Iraola knows better than most.
Liverpool Make Rayan Enquiry
According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool have made enquiries over Bournemouth winger Rayan as they continue planning for the future of their attack.
The 19-year-old has previously been likened to Gareth Bale by former England striker Jermain Defoe, who said: “He reminds me of Gareth Bale, he plays so effortlessly.”
Liverpool admired Rayan before his move from Vasco da Gama to Bournemouth earlier this year, but the Cherries won the race for his signature. Now, the Reds have revived their interest and are understood to have made contact over a potential deal.
The Brazilian is also well known to Iraola, who worked closely with him during his time at Bournemouth and is said to be a huge admirer of the youngster’s potential.
While Liverpool continue to monitor several attacking targets as they prepare for life after Mohamed Salah, Rayan has emerged as one of the names firmly under consideration thanks to his rapid development and familiarity with the club’s new manager.
