Liverpool fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are looking anxious as they consider life without their current talisman as the Daily Express revealed that Brendan Rodgers is eyeing Arsenal’s Theo Walcott as Raheem Sterling’s replacement.
This rumour emerges as Sterling’s negotiations over a new deal are stalling which has spread the feeling around Merseyside that the young English star won’t be there next season.
This situation doesn’t seem to be progressing which has forced Rodgers to look elsewhere for a possible replacement.
And it is believed that Walcott is the most likely candidate to step in Sterling’s shoes at Anfield as Walcott has 12 months running on his contract.
The former Southampton winger is currently having talks over a contract extension but the negotiations are apparently going on a lot longer than Arsene Wenger expected.
This subsequently means the Reds will keep one eye on the situation at the Emirates as they fight to keep Sterling at the club.
