The Derby County midfielder has seen his price tag rise higher and higher over the last couple of seasons and now it seems Brendan Rodgers has eyed him as a Steven Gerrard replacement.
Gerrard is set to leave the club in the summer and move to the MLS after a long and successful association with the Reds, and the long and rather hard search to replace him has begun.
As one of our punters notes over a beer and burger at the bar, Hughes certainly impressed us and we think he definitely needs a big move – unless Derby get promoted of course!
